The second phase of the "Industrial and Logistics Park - Burgas" is now fully ready to welcome large-scale investments and new production facilities. А special ceremony opened the new part of the industrial zone.

"There was a swamp here 3 years ago. We filled it in for a year, waited for the ground to settle for a year, and then we made another layer. Then the machines arrived, and on October 1, equipment arrived to build this entire infrastructure. On June 30, we were ready. In 9 months, the two construction companies really completed a very serious, complex, and difficult construction project, and I thank them. I thank all the institutions that helped - the ministry, the management of the National Center for Environmental Protection, the District Administration, the Water and Sewerage Authority, EVN, the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and the National Institute of Health. We have refuted all the pessimists," said Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.

"The worst urbanized street in Burgas was Targovska Street. Currently, 24 companies operate on it and every day they complained that they were passing through potholes. Thanks to this program, in addition to building this new industrial zone, we also renovated Targovska Street. Welcome investors to Burgas, we have a wonderful base!" added Mayor Nikolov.

"It is important for us to support the development of industrial infrastructure and investment potential in Bulgaria. The implementation of this project is important not only for the "Industrial and Logistics Park - Burgas", but also for the development of the economy of the region and the country. The built infrastructure creates new prerequisites for attracting new investors, expanding existing businesses, creating new opportunities for economic growth and employment. We will continue working together with local authorities and businesses, because this leads to real projects," said Emilia Todorova, Executive Director of the National Company "Industrial Zones".

The ceremony was attended by the regional governor Diko Dikov, the chairman of the Burgas Municipal Council Mihail Hadzhiyanev, deputy mayors Chanka Koralska and Stanimir Apostolov, members of parliament, municipal councilors, representatives of business and institutions.

Phase 2 is located in the South-West industrial zone, close to the Burgas shipyards and the road connection to the Meden Rudnik residential area. Unlike traditional industrial areas, the new zone is designed to accommodate both small and medium-sized enterprises and larger, high-tech and environmentally friendly production.

The large-scale project transformed a territory of 600 acres into a modern industrial zone with a fully developed infrastructure and creates new opportunities for attracting investors, developing production and creating jobs.

The length of the newly built and reconstructed street network in the industrial zone is over 5,350 kilometers, with the street structure and pavement being sized for "very heavy" traffic, and the necessary street parking has been allocated. Over 3.6 km. of bicycle lanes, 4.7 km. of storm sewers, 3.8 km. of sewage for domestic wastewater, 3.3 km of water supply network, sewer pumping station and BKTP have been built. The new technical infrastructure also includes street lighting, a pipe network for high-current and low-current networks and video surveillance.

One of the key results is the complete renovation of Targovska Street, which serves over 30 companies in the area. Before the renovation, it was in extremely poor condition, and today it has been transformed into a major transport and infrastructure corridor, connecting the industrial zone with one of the main city boulevards - Zahari Stoyanov.
A local roadway has also been built, parallel to Todor Aleksandrov Street, which provides additional and more convenient access to the industrial zone after the roundabout at the exit to Sozopol.

The infrastructure is already starting to attract real investments. Currently, 8 companies have been attracted to the zone, one of which has already started the construction of its production base, and the rest are at the design and preparation stage of the terrains. There is also investor interest in the remaining 9 free plots, with an area between 11 and 75 decares.

The project "Investments in the Development of an Industrial Park - Burgas", Investment Contract BG-RRP3.007-0004-C01, was implemented by the Municipality of Burgas and "Industrial and Logistics Park - Burgas" AD under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan.

"Industrial and Logistics Park - Burgas" is establishing itself as one of the instruments through which the Municipality of Burgas pursues a consistent policy of economic development and investment attraction. After the successful development of the first phase, the new "South-West" zone significantly expands the city's capacity to offer ready-made land and infrastructure for investors.
